This kit consists of three 80 mm diamond sponge fiber abrasive pads in various grits for smoothing marble and a sachet of granular polishing powder for a mirror-like finish. The product is formulated to manually restore the shine of marble damaged by acids, scratches, or other dullness. It is suitable for small marble restoration jobs. Even a single stain can be removed without having to treat the entire surface. It works perfectly, especially on marble and highly calcareous stones (those with a calcium carbonate mineral content greater than 80%). Important tip: If the result is unsatisfactory, we recommend repeating the entire process, carefully following the steps outlined in the instruction sheet. Yield: The manual diamond pads have a remarkable yield (several square meters). The polishing granules, on the other hand, have a yield of 2-3 square meters per 100-gram sachet and are available for purchase separately. Warning: The granules (similar to small stones) should be rubbed mixed with water onto the marble surface to allow the slow release of the chemical polishing agent. These crystals are significantly less hard than the limestone crystals that make up marble, and therefore are completely unable to scratch the surface. This kit has similar functions to the Marble Restore Kit but has both advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: Greater ergonomics for gripping the abrasives and longer abrasive life. Ideal for working by hand on flat surfaces. Disadvantages: The abrasives are circular in shape with a diameter of 8 cm and cannot be used in corners or confined areas of the surface (e.g., near sink faucets). They are only suitable for working on flat surfaces. Granite, quartzite, all siliceous stones (or stones with low carbonate content) and some green marbles cannot be polished to a mirror finish with this kit, as the powder is ineffective and therefore to polish these types of stones you need very fine-grained abrasives available in specific kits. |
