When to use. Virginia Fast is a kit that allows you to restore mirror polishing of the marble ruined by acidic corrosion of the surface, limescale or scratches using portable power tools (angle sanders or drills) .
Where it works. On all surfaces of marble, travertine and any carbonate stone, including marble-based agglomerates (terrazzo floors, agglomerate tiles).
It does not work on granite, siliceous stones and manufactured quartz. It can clear surface stains but not deeply absorbed stains, such as stains from colored organic substances, inks, grease and oil. To remove these stains, the appropriate specific recommendations for this purpose must be taken. Virginia Fast eliminates the opacity on the surface left by acidulous staining substance.
How to use. In the case of corrosion not too rough to the touch, the method of intervention is based on the so-called "go back method” that saves work caused by the unnecessary use of too coarse abrasives.
We recommend that you follow these steps:
a) Pour polishing granules on the part to be treated, add some mineral water and rub for 30/60 seconds with white buff mounted on the power tool. The surface should look shiny from now on
b) Observe the treated area to detect the existence of corrosion marks under polishing.
c) If these marks are detected, sanding with abrasive pad #4. Wet the surface with a few drops of clean water and smoothes for a few minutes. Now you have to clean and dry. The polished area is now slightly opaque. Always look against the light if you still see the marks you have previously detected. If they appear to be attenuated but not completely eliminated, it is worth pushing a bit with the same abrasive pad until complete elimination. However, if mark deletion is tedious, it is necessary to take a more coarse grit to perform the same smoothing operation. The sanding step is completed when the marks have been completely erased. The surface will be ready for the final polishing step after using pad #4.
d) After finishing the sanding step, pour, as described at the beginning, some polishing powder above the abraded area and proceed as in point a). Clean by rinsing with water. If polishing is not yet perfect, repeat the application with the polishing powder.
